FAQ

How to Get the Most Out of Your Massage

  • Show up a few minutes early- this allows you to fill out paperwork and not feel rushed.

  • Turn off your cell phone to make sure you’re not interrupted.

  • Schedule your session for a time after work or when you’re not working.

  • Change out of your work clothes and wear something easy to pull back on when your treatment is over.

  • Please shower before you come for a massage if possible. If it’s not possible, at least try to freshen up. Normal perspiration is acceptable, but if you’ve been working out hard, tidying the yard or it’s unusually warm, try to have a quick shower before your massage appointment. If you’re too slippery it’s harder for a therapist to work properly and it can be quite unpleasant too.

  • If at any time the room or table temperature is not to your liking, don't hesitate to tell your massage therapist.

  • Speak up if the pressure is too hard or too soft, our massage therapists want to make sure we are fitting your needs.

  • If you prefer not to have music during your session that can be arranged as well.

Do you have to fully undress before a session?

  • No, you undress to the level you are comfortable with.

Please tell your massage therapist if:

  • Obtained new injuries since your last massage

  • Have long term or chronic conditions

  • Developed any illnesses

  • Came in contact with someone who had or you recently had COVID-19

  • You are pregnant

    • This will dictate some of the techniques used as well as what essential oils that will be used.

  • You have a minor infection like a cold or flu

    • If you are experiencing these types of symptoms, call head to see if it is wise for you to attend your session. Sometimes, a massage can make illnesses worse because while your body is already using your lymphatic system to fight the infection, a massage can stimulate it even more. This is especially true for deep tissue and Swedish massage.

  • Have contagious skin conditions, such as Athlete's Foot.

The more regularly you have a massage, the more the effects will build up and you’ll start to feel the benefits. Just having a massage once a year at Christmas is nice but you’ll have to undo all those knots all over again each time.

Most of these tips are common sense really, but keeping them in mind should make all of your massage treatments more enjoyable and effective. Enjoy your massage!

Cancellation Policy

We understand that unanticipated events occasionally happen. In order to be effective and fair to all clients, the following policies will be enforced:

48 Hour notice is required when cancelling an appointment. This allows the opportunity for someone else to book an appointment with us in the case you cannot make your appointment. If you cancel less than 24 hours before your appointment,  you will be charged the full cost of the appointment since we will not have enough time to fill the appointment. Effective immediately if you have a Monday appointment, all cancellations must be made 48 hours before your appointment. If you cancel less than 48 hours in advance you will be charged the full amount of your appointment. By cancelling on Sunday, which is a non-business day, this does not give us enough time to fill your spot. This amount must be paid before you can schedule your next appointment. We understand that things come up so we encourage you to communicate with us.

Late Arrivals

If you arrive late to your appointment, your session may be shortened in order to accompany clients whose appointment is after yours. Depending how late you arrive, the massage therapist will determine the length that will be shortened. Out of respect for the massage therapist and the client following yours, please arrive 5-10 minutes early.

No Show Appointments

If you do not show up to your appointment you are responsible for the full amount of your appointment. By you not showing up to your appointment we are now out of the income and we cannot fill your spot. You will need to pay your appointment fee before scheduling your next appointment. Please be respectful of our time and give us notice if you cannot make your appointment!
